About Us

We are a working farm operation raising corn, soybeans and wheat.  We also raise dark fired tobacco and have a sweet corn patch in the summer along with a few other seasonal vegetables. We love what we do and love our life. We are a proud supporter of Pick Tennessee and Tennessee Agritourism. I love having everyone come out to the farm for their fresh picked corn in the summer for that farm fresh pickin. I can say that my husband loves his job as well. Things are pretty simple for us on the farm. Life is good.

I have always had a love for junking, as I would call it. I love vintage, old, things that sometimes get overlooked and maybe forgotten. Looking for the unexpected, shopping for antiques and wondering what something can be turned into. I have a booth with a friend at a local flea market. So back in 2012 I had been to the antique show in Nashville in February and they had a section called “Vintage Marketplace. I picked up a card from one of the booths about a barn sale “The Strawberry Patch”.  I held onto this card for several  months.

SThe_Hayloft_at_Port_Royal_Barn_Sale-Clarksville-Tennessee-140o, the weekend of the sale it was like something came up everyday  and I could not go. So on Saturday morning I told Knox that I was going to a barn sale. He said I will go with you I don’t have anything going on today. I thought not good(you know not as much junking). Well off we go and when we got there and there were lots of cars – I think he was quite surprised.  So we shopped around and I talked with the girl Christy having the sale.  So on the way home I told Knox you know we have a really good barn to have a sale in. So the Hayloft project began.  It was a Amish dairy barn-so no electricity.

We got electricity and worked on the barn all summer for a fall barn sale. Even hung some chandeliers in the barn.  I started contacting people about being vendors and chatted with Christy a lot. She was wonderful to help me and talked with me. I even went to Battle Ground, Washington to Barn House a well known barn sale. So with 35 plus vendors I held my first barn sale in October, 2012. It exceeded my expectations. I wanted folks to feel a positive experience and to visit with friends while shopping.

I want you to find that special treasure, have great food, enjoy the music, the inspiration, the smiles and laughter and the love I have at having this event. We also offer The Hayloft for that special event like weddings, birthday parties, corporate events and other events you might want to have. It really is more than I can imagine. I hope you enjoy The Hayloft.  God Bless!
Shirley
